Do we know about God for real? Do we have a real understand who God is? Sometimes we act like God doesn’t like us. Is He waiting for us to fail so He can judge us? Do we think He has made mistakes with people, places and things? Flat out, is He wrong sometimes? That is how we act and respond sometimes. We read the bible, and pray, and go to church. But what are we learning about God and His Son and His Spirit. Sometimes church is a bunch of noise and at the end, you ask yourself or someone ask you how was church. What can you tell them? Shoot, what can you tell yourself? What did you learn? What did you experience? What did you hear? What did you receive? What did you give?
This is not an indictment on the church. This is a question concerning our level of knowledge and relationship with the Lord. Because when that has clarity. Church then makes sense and most importantly, you make sense.
Jesus said, “when you see me, you see the Father.” Jesus said, ” learn of me”, We sing songs about Him and praise His name and worship Him. Is this muscle memory? Is this reactionary response because that all we know? Or do we have the idea of God, but not the knowing of God?
Why did I say this? Because I think sometimes we think God is reactive. Like things catch Him by surprise. Especially when it comes to our own personal lives. Let me say this. GOD IS NOT REACTIVE! YOU ARE NOT AN AFTERTHOUGHT! I will leave you with this scripture.
Ephesians 1:4-6, According as he hath choose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before his in love. having predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself according to the good pleasure of his will. To the praise of the glory of his grace wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
