We are having our family and friends day this sunday. We have invited our friends and our family to our church. The theme for the day is IT IS FINISHED! I wonder do we really know what that means for us today. I know that every Good Friday some preacher is shouting these words  and people are going nuts over it. Shouts and praise fill the air of every church that is having Good Friday service.

However I wonder, do those that are shouting and praise God understand what that means for them in their life now. Is there a life application moment for this? Does their langauge and their life reflect their understanding of IT IS FINISHED? I must admit as a preacher and pastor I did not have a full understand of what IT IS FINISHED meant. Can you admit that?

There is so much I can tell you about the finished work of the cross. I would be here a while, so I will give you some of it. It is finished means, He paid the debt of all your sins, past, present and future. The finished work of the cross gave all of us the opportunity to take hold of eternal life. He took every punishment, every pain, every suffering, every sin and every rebellious act against God.

Jesus took upon the cross everything that could ever separate us from God so that we could have confidence in being united with God for all of eternity. It means that God is not mad at you any more and can never be mad at you again.  Jesus fulfilled an old covenant, so we could now enter the better covenant (that by itself is awesome when you understand the difference between old covenant and new covenant). In Christ you can be assured God is not relating to you based on how much you pray or read your bible.

There is a whole lot more, I mean a whole lot more things that we have because of the finished work of the cross. So start living like everything is done. Pray because you already have the victory. Don’t pray to get the victory. Let your language reflect it’s already done.

I will leave you with this: THE CROSS IS THE PLACE WHERE SIN WAS DEALT WITH, NOT WHERE GOD PUNISHED JESUS

THE CROSS IS THE PLACE THAT LOVE WAS ON DISPLAY AND GRACE WAS IN ACTION!

The cross is the dividing line between the old covenant and the new covenant. Understand this and it will change your life forever!
