Romans 8:28 says And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Has someone said those things to you in your time of trouble? Have you said this in someone else’s time of trouble? This is one of the favorite scripture most people say when they don’t know what to say and a scripture that many feel will comfort that person.
Truthfully, does it work? Maybe. But let me ask you this. How does a child’s death work together for your good? How does a bad doctor’s report work together for your good? How does losing your job work together for you good? I am not being funny. I’m just asking questions. Everything do not work together for you good. Then, if this is not the case, then what does that scripture mean?
To understand what that scripture means, you have to understand why it was said in the first place and what things is Paul talking about. Not to go into too much detail in this blog. I will give you the short version. Paul is talking about prayer. When you don’t know what to pray or you’re too hurt or in pain to pray, and you are moaning and groaning. The Holy Spirit intreprets these things and sends them to the Father and the Father receives them and answers them according to His will.
So with all those things happening at the same time, Paul is saying that, those things are working together for your good. Not life issues. You praying prayers you don’t understand and the Holy Spirit interpreting those prayers, and sending them to the Father, that is working together for your good.
So never worry about what to pray, just pray and when you don’t know what to pray, let the Holy Spirit take over and all those things work together for you good.
