Galatians 4:4,5 says But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son made of a women made under the law. To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

I know when you open your bible and there is a page that says new testament and then that next page says Matthews. So there is a assumption that the new testament starts at Matthew. So then the assumption again is that Matthew, Mark Luke and John are the beginning of the new testament/new covenant. Well it is not. The gospel are still operating in the Law/old testament.

Because Galatians tells us that Jesus was born under the law. So He was subjected to the Law. So because of this fact, we need to understand the ministry of Jesus. This will also help you understand the teaching and harsh sayings of Jesus. And put the Gospels in their right place.

Jesus is the bridge between the old and the new covenant. He had to make sure the Jews understood that they couldn’t keep the law and He is the way, the truth and the life.

Hebrews 9:16,17 says For where a covenant is, there must of necessity be the death of the one who made it. For a covenant is valid only when men are dead, for it is never in force while the one who made it lives. So it wasn’t His birth that started the new covenant, it was His death that initiated the new testament era.

So the new testament really started at His death. And recorded events starts in Acts. So understand the dividing line of the bible. The Cross is the dividing line. And the old changed and the new was introduced. And this is the covenant we are living in now, not the old.
