I bet your bible has a page that divides the old testament from the new testament. I bet you that you believe that the new testament started at Matthew don’t you? What if I tell you to tear that dividing page out of your bible. You probably have me arrested for spiritual theft. Well the new testament didn’t start at Matthew. But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a women, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons (Galatians 4:4,5). Andrew Farley says this, Yes, we are quite familiar with the idea that Jesus was ‘born of the women.” But many of us may have lost sight of the fact that Jesus was “Born under the Law”. This means that in Matthew 1 and throughout the four Gospels, God’s new way had not come on the scene yet. It was thirty-three years later, at Jesus’s death, that the new covenant went into effect: So you see how important rightly dividing the Word of Truth is. This will explain the Words of Jesus, the ministry of Jesus and when the new covenant(Testament) started.

For where a covenant is, there must of necessity be the death of the one who made it. For a covenant is valid only when men are dead, for it is never in force while the one who made it lives. (Hebrews 9:16,17) So this tells us that the cross is the divider. Jesus death, not his birth is what really started the New Testament. This explains a lot. So the question is are you operating in the new covenant or the old covenant?
