Are we afraid of freedom? Is it too much pressure to be free? Is it too much responsibility to walk in freedom? Have I been in prison too long? Am I so use to being told what to do, and when to do it, that I am afraid of my own self worth? Is freedom a bad word to the born-again believer? I don’t know. It seem like it, because when we talk about you are not under the law or the old covenant teaching of rule keeping, people go nuts. Its like we stole something from you. When we preach total forgiveness of sin by the once-and-for-all sacrifice of Jesus Christ, people are afraid that we just gave them a license to sin. No, we give them freedom in their relationship with the Father. To come to the throne of Grace without fear of punishment. Wouldn’t it be lovely to have a relationship without fear of doing something wrong and be punished for it? Wouldn’t it be nice not to worry about the security of the relationship when it hits a rough patch? Wouldn’t it be beautiful to love and to be loved without rules or test? Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have intimacy and trust because there is nothing that you can do to change the mind of that person? Wouldn’t it be good to be loved by your identity and not your behavior? Well that’s what Christ did for you and I.

He gave us freedom. Who the Son sets free is free indeed. There is nothing between you and God. Jesus took care of that on the cross. You are free! His unconditional love has freed us from the clutches of the enemy. You are no longer bound by the sin debt.  It was paid for. So live in this freedom. I will leave you with this. Romans 5:17 that says For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.
