Hebrews 8:6 says But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant which was established upon better promises.

As you are well aware of, I am a new covenant believer, a grace pastor, who pastors a grace church. I am radical about it and invested and engage totally in the grace message. I agree with Paul, when he said, I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ, it is the power of God…

But I don’t understand what all the fuss is about concerning the law, old covenant and the mixing of the two. There shouldn’t be a problem. We live under the new covenant and not the old covenant. That’s why the bible says rightly divide the word of truth. I mean the bible is clear about it. I think the problem is found in the teaching of the bible, not the bible itself. Religion in itself is a problem because Jesus didn’t saved us to be bound by religion. He freed us from it. And grace is not a religion. Grace is a person and His name is Jesus Christ. The law was given to Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ (John 1:17).

Even Paul said we are new testament ministers and not ministers of the letter (2Corinthians 3:6) And he also said that the law is the ministry of death and condemnation. (2 Corinthians 3:7)  So then why is there such a great divide when it comes to what covenant we are under. And the fact that we are mixing both together is even worse, because mixing the two leaves you without the benefit of both.

In the heros of faith who probably tried harder than we ever will to follow the commandments of God never recieved the promise that we have now. (Hebrews 11:39) God said that he had something better for us (Hebrews 11:40). Why would we fight over keeping the law and the old covenant when God says that the new covenant is not like the old covenant and the new covenant is build on better promises. WHO WOULD ARGUE WITH THAT?
