Today is a day of reflection and questions. Just wondering if we as believers are making an impact in the world? Are we making a difference in the lives of people? Ok, am I doing all I can to make a difference in my small world. The disciples turned the world upside down with the gospel of Jesus Christ. This is just my opinion, but I don’t see that kind of impact. Maybe I am missing something here. Is the gospel that the disciples of Jesus day preached the same gospel we are preaching today. I know for myself until a few years ago I wasn’t. Do you know that what Jesus preached and taught during his time to the Jews is different from what He taught His disciple to preach and teach when He left? See since He was born under the law He had to deal with them according to the law. But Christ knew that He came to fulfill the law and His disciples were going to usher in a new covenant. And boy did they! But check the record you never heard again any of the harsh teaching of Jesus after He left. Because They moved from law to grace. I’m just thinking out loud. I think I was preaching and teaching what He said to the Jews which was dealing from a law perspective. But now I am preaching what the disciples turned the world upside down with. First it turned my life around. So I could go on and on and on, but I won’t. Just discover it for yourself. I will leave you this. A diluted gospel and a polluted gospel is no gospel at all!
I have been reading this book by Steve McVey called Beyond An ANGRY GOD. And let me tell you it has been an eye opener. I mean, its an awesome book and I would recommend it to anybody looking for the truth. One of the things that i want to share is this word REPENTANCE. This word has been mis-understood and mis-used by a great many people including myself before I really understood what it meant. I thought it meant I needed to confess my sins all the time. I mean, come on, having you be told many times you need to repent? You do something wrong and the first thing they say or the first thing you remember is this, “I need to repent”. However it doesn’t mean that at all. Repent means to change your mind. Yes, it means to change your mind. I will let you investigate this, so you can understand it for your self. But let me say this, if you are not repenting everyday then, you are not growing at all. We can’t be so rigid in our beliefs that we reject everything that doesn’t agree with our beliefs. Its not healthy. So open your mind up to the possibility that you could be wrong about a few things and repent. Oh by the way, the reason why I mention this book because I have been repenting (changing your mind) a lot. And I am the better for it.
This is going to be short and sweet. We live in a society of doing. Should I say doers. The culture is you have to do something in order to get something. And I think we get this from our concept of God. I don’t know, maybe I’m wrong. That’s why its just my thoughts. Anyway I think we think God wants us to do something first before He will do something for us. He is this great God who looks down on us and gave us some rules to follow and then wait for us to break them so He can punish us. So we try our best to do good to get good, so we are not punished. That sounds about right. This culture has spread to everything we do and touch including our relationships. So here is it. DO GOOD GET GOOD, DO BAD GET BAD! So we hold grudges, take revenge and hold on to stuff that is eating away at the fabric of our very lives. All because we think thats the way it is. Well, I have some good news for you. That is not how God operates and that is not the heart of God. I’m not going to tell you exactly where to read this, but i will tell you to check out the Geneis account concerning when God made man. I will say this, When God made man, the first thing he did was blessed him. Thats right, blessed them! Before man worship Him, praised, him, before any service or work was done, before he said a word, He BLESSED them. How about that! So don’t take my word for it. Check it out for yourself. it may change your LIFE. Grace and peace upon you!
I may be going off the deep end here. Or maybe you might think I have lost my mind after you read this. But here goes! Social Media was in the mind of God just like everything else. No Social Media is not of the devil. But it was breathed into the mind of man for a purpose. Well, what purpose is that you may ask. To spead the Good News of the gospel of Jesus Christ of course, silly! Mark 16:15 says, And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. Now He said that a long time ago with today in mind. Think about that statement for a moment. Thats right, He had Social Media in mind when He made that statement. Its 2014, how do you think we can accomplish that mandate today? Oh, thats right, SOCIAL MEDIA…

Its 2014, how do you think we can accomplish that mandate today? Oh, thats right, SOCIAL MEDIA. Remember Jesus can’t come back until the Gospel is preached to every creature. How do you think thats going to be accomplished? Through social media. So think about this. I hope you don’t try to commit me, but lets get the message of Jesus Christ out through Social Media. Grace and peace upon you.
I learned something recently concerning bringing change to an organization. I knew it would be difficult and I have been involved in changing the culture and vision and status of a few. The issues that I had the most problems with was dealing with the emotional fallout of the people involved in the change. Looking back, I don’t think I handled those persons involved emotions well. Matter of fact I really botched a few. And for the life of me, I couldn’t figure out why there was a resistance to change for the betterment of all. Well as I’m on my journey of learning, I found a jewel on Ted Talks concerning keeping your organization relevant by Pastor Rick Warren. What he said opened my eyes to my problem. When you change something, those involved in the change suffer a loss and when you suffer a loss, there is a grieving period. Ding, ding, ding. LIGHT BULB! It wasn’t the fact that they were resisting change per say. They were grieving. And grieving won’t kill your organization. You just need to understand the grieving process and act according. Listen, Just go to Ted Talks and look up Rick Warren and check out his talk on this subject. You won’t be sorry. Grace and peace upon you.
